So I had my nephew over to stay with me last weekend, and he was so excited to tell me that he won player of the tournament at a seasoned competition that he took part in. As part of the prize, he won this genuine World Cup 2010 football, donated by the tournament sponsors Hyundai. So as an extra gift, we took a few photo's of him playing the garden, so that he has a few memories to look back on, in the future.

On the 12th of June 2010, I had the pleasure of being invited as a guest to witness their Hindu Wedding at Watford Temple. Disha is like my younger sister. I've known her since she was born!! We've lived together when we were little babies; we've had long summer holidays abroad; and even while she moved far away during university, we still all had a few occasions to meet up and enjoy a few birthday parties and reasons to celebrate living the typical student life. I'd better not mention the teasing and bullying Disha has had to endure from me, throughout her teenage life, lol, lets just say it was a love-hate relationship. (read more...)

OutlawJapClub.com @ Ace Cafe [17th April 2010]

The 17th of April 2010, saw a group of like minded individuals gather together at The Ace Cafe - London, to form the first official OutlawJapClub.com meet. A total of 36 cars, with many more members from all over the UK arrived in their vehicles, and packed out the Ace Cafe car parking area. In my opinion, this has got to be one of the largest turn-outs for the first official meet held at Ace Cafe, for a club that only began building its membership foundation less than a year ago.

The bride's family, brings with them 'The Kankotri' (wedding invitation), to offer to the groom's family. The offering of the invitation, indicates to the groom's family, that all the preparation is complete and blessings required to hold the wedding have been received. The ceremony continues with the acceptance of the kankotri. This then allows the groom to attend his wedding and bring with him his family and friends.

2010 [Happy New Year]

Well that's that then! That's the two weeks of holiday over. It was a memorable and enjoyable one that's for certain. Over the last couple of weeks, I've spent a lot of time with family and friends. With lots of food, drink and merriment. It was the perfect way to close out 2009 with lots of socialising, fun and smiles.

Stolen Phone [Notice]

My phone was stolen on Christmas Eve a few days ago. It was partly my fault, but also the reality of the situation is that there are far too many greedy people in the world today. The mobile phone was only 6 months old. Looked brand new, and was well looked after. I tend to keep all of my stuff in great condition. Anyway, I've called T-Mobile, who have blocked the handset, and charged me to have a replacement sim-card sent to my home. I'll likely never see the handset again, which I really liked and had gotten used to using.

Sameer Sheth [The Pithi]

Checkout Sameer's pics from the very messy and "violent" Pithi ceremony. The whole family got in on the action, and covered him in a yellow paste, made from some ingredients (turmeric, sandalwood and saffron) mixed together with some water. Supposedly, the paste helps in a cleansing way, to clear out the pores, a few days before, so that Sameer looks his best for the big wedding day.

Sameer was married to Sapna on the 1st of November 2009. In the days leading up to the wedding Sameer and his family had many joyous evenings of parties, celebrations & hindu ceremonies.

Ushma & Rishi [The Khoro]

Ushma & Rishi became proud parents of little baby girl Anaiya Shah on the 13th of August 2009. Leading up to the childs birth, is an auspicious hindu ceremony, known as 'The Khoro'. The Khoro takes place in either the first or the very last week of the 7th month of preganancy, and must be on a Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday. The ceremony only happens for the first child to be born to the mother.

Exciting news!!!! Nisha & Harshil are engaged to be married!!! This is awesome news, they make a great couple. Their engagement ceremony, held at Cavendish Banqueting, in Colindale, last week was an absolute blast. A guest list of a very large family, all attended to give them their best wishes, as they committed into their religious duties.

Run to the Beat 2009 [Promotional]

A very good friend of mine will be running in the "Run to the Beat" 2009 London Music Half Marathon, this Sunday 27th September. This is the second time this 13 mile long run, has been organised, after a hugely successful start in 2008 by Sony Ericsson.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity – Dinner & Dance [Slideshow]

I took these back in 2007, as part of the entry to a photo competition, held on the Lexus Owners Club UK forum. The rules were simple. All you had to do was to follow the theme title 'Lexus at night'.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity – Dinner & Dance

An evening of dinner and dance, held at Masti Banqueting, in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Childrens Charity was held on the 28th of March 2009. Initially, the venue had been booked to seat 200 people, but as the tickets were sold out in under 48 hours the organisers had to quickly respond to the massive interest and stretch the venue capability to it's bursting limit of 350. All tickets were all sold out in less than 10 days, for what was to be one of the best fund raising parties of the year.

Canon EF 135mm F2.0L USM [Technology]

Last month I purchased the Canon EF 135mm F2.0L USM lens. It's firmly attached to the 5D, and produces astounding results! The full frame sensor of the 5D gives this prime lens the space to breath! I need to get this lens out and give it a real world work-out. But for now I'm super happy with what it's produced. Can't wait to try it on faces and see how the portraits look.

I was very impressed to find that my Canon Powershot G10, could produce results like this. It really shows that with the aperture wide open, the bokeh (blur) is fairly smooth for something this small. I may start posting more images taken with my G10 as I become more familiar with it’s capability.
