My sister, Amika, has been interested in Mehndi, make-up, beauty and design for many years. This year, she has made it her goal, to pursue her passion in this field to provide a professional service for soon to be brides. She is always practicing on herself, and other family members, and yesterday she asked if I would photograph some of her work, to help her begin building of her professional portfolio.
This is what Mehndi looks like 10 minutes after it has been applied to the hands.
Overnight, the designs are marked onto the skin as the fresh mehndi dries off. The depth and darkness of the dye depends on the skin, but often her results have been extremely good.
I wish her the very best of luck in her new venture, and I hope she is as successful as she deserves.
